Exeter has everything from Georgian terraces around the centre to Victorian streets in Heavitree, St Thomas and Mount Pleasant, and big newer estates on the edges at Pinhoe, Alphington and Cranbrook.
Torquay

Torquay roofs have it tough. Hills and cliff-top streets leave a lot of houses exposed, and the wind coming off Tor Bay carries salt that eats away at old fixings and mortar faster than inland.
Paignton & Brixham

From Preston and Goodrington round to Brixham harbour, this side of Torbay is a mix of seaside terraces, 1960s and 70s estates, and fishermen's cottages stacked up the hillside.
Teignmouth & Dawlish

Teignmouth and Dawlish face straight out to sea, and the roofs take the brunt of it. Wind-driven rain gets under lifted tiles and weak verges, and salt air corrodes old nails and lead clips.
